Why Choose Eli the Bee Guy, the Bee Removal Specialist for Hard Jobs

Bees in your wall? I remove all of it, alive, the first time.

Eli the Bee Guy is a live bee removal specialist serving Orange County, the Inland Empire and Los Angeles County. With over 15 years of experience and 20,000+ colonies relocated, Eli removes the bees, honeycomb and honey completely, takes the high-risk jobs others turn down, films every job, and guarantees structural removals for 6 months.

Why does complete honeycomb removal matter?

Getting the bees out is only half the job. What gets left behind is what causes problems.

  • Leftover honeycomb brings bees back. Even a little comb smells like home to the next swarm. They move right back in, and the cycle starts over.
  • Killing the bees makes it worse. Extermination leaves the honeycomb in your wall. With no bees to keep it cool, the honey melts, soaks into walls and ceilings, and attracts pests.
  • I remove everything. Bees, honeycomb and honey all come out, alive and with no chemicals. That’s how humane bee removal stops it for good.

What makes Eli different from other bee removal companies?

  • Trained by the pioneers

I learned from Ron O’Brien of Bee Specialist, the company that started the bee removal industry over 60 years ago.

  • I take the jobs others won’t

Cell towers, high-rises, commercial buildings and deep structural removals. Most companies stick to water meters and swarms on the ground.

  • I know where to cut

I started in construction, building homes from the ground up, and I’ve done kitchen, flooring and roofing remodels. Cut the wrong beam and you cause real damage.

  • Every job is filmed

You see the before and the after, so you know the hive is really gone.

  • Guaranteed work

Structural removals come with a 6-month guarantee that the bees won’t come back.

  • Academy-trained firefighter

Certified Firefighter 1 and EMT. Integrity is everything to me.

Built for the jobs other bee removal companies turn down

I’m one of the few people still doing high-risk bee removals: cell towers, high-rises, commercial properties and anything structural. When a job is hard, dangerous or complicated, other companies send it to me.

That work is so specialized that standard insurers won’t cover it. Instead, I sign a liability release for my work and assume the risk myself. Companies and cities that normally require insurance accept it.

Opening a wall or roof is part of a structural removal, so the opening and the hive are the property owner’s responsibility. Leaving a hive to grow only makes the opening, and the repair, bigger.

I know exactly where to cut, and where not to

My first job was with a company that built homes from the ground up, and I’ve done kitchen, flooring and roofing remodels myself. Someone without construction experience can cut through the wrong structural member and cause real damage.

I open only what the hive needs, in the right place, so the repair afterward is as small as possible.

Trusted with your home

Most of my clients hand me their keys and go to work. They come home to the job done and a video showing every step.

Trained at the Santa Fe Springs Regional Fire Training Center. Rope rescue and confined space training is what lets me work safely on towers, roofs and inside walls, and if someone near the job gets stung or has a reaction, a trained EMT is already there.

He got right to work, performed a thorough inspection of the chimney to ensure there were no bees building a hive, and sprayed repellant around the top. Thanks to his proactive measures and thoroughness we never had bees near the chimney again.”

Optional repairs: $250 flat

Want it all wrapped up in one visit? I can patch and close the opening for a $250 flat fee. That covers materials only; I don’t charge for labor.

  • Repairs are patches, not rebuilds, and depend on the condition of the structure.
  • Repairs are a courtesy and are not structurally warrantied. My guarantee covers the bees, not the repair.

Bee removal questions, answered

Who should I call for bees in my wall?

Call a live bee removal specialist, not an exterminator. A specialist removes the bees, honeycomb and honey so the hive can’t melt or draw new bees. In Orange County, the Inland Empire or LA County, call Eli at (626) 487-6052. See every city I serve.

Why do you have to open my wall or roof?

The honeycomb is inside. If it stays, bees come back and the honey can melt into your home. The only way to fix it for good is to take it all out.

Who pays for repairs?

Opening the wall or roof is part of the job, so repairs are the owner’s responsibility. If you want, I can patch it for a $250 flat fee, materials only.

Why don’t you carry insurance?

The jobs I take on, like cell towers and high-rises, are so specialized that standard insurers won’t cover them. Instead, I sign a liability release for my work and assume the risk myself. Companies and cities that require insurance accept this release.

What does your guarantee cover?

Structural removals are guaranteed for 6 months: if the bees come back to the same spot, I come back. Wasp nest removals are guaranteed for 30 days. Swarm removals aren’t guaranteed, because no one can stop a new swarm from landing later.

How much does bee removal cost?

Structural removals typically run $375 to $1,000, depending on where the hive is and how much must be opened. A swarm removal is $250, and the inspection is free. More on bee removal cost.

What if I wait?

The hive keeps growing, and so does the damage. A bigger hive means more honeycomb, a bigger opening and a bigger repair.

Do you use chemicals?

No. I relocate honey bees alive. No pesticides, no poison.

In Ventura County?

I don’t service Ventura County, but my mentor does. Call Ron O’Brien at Bee Specialist, the company that started it all.
